Activities
Outdoor Games:
Tennis:
We have a court constructed to international standards.
The playing surface is a Plexi Pave Hard-court over asphalt substrate,
acclaimed by all who have played to be the best in Phuket.
In addition there is a dedicated practice court with knock wall.
The courts are extremely well floodlit for night play.
A comfortable umpires chair is provided.
Balls and racquets are available. Please wear correct footwear.
Beach Volleyball:
Unlike most temporary beach courts ours is completely level
and the sand is of a consistant quality.
This court is also fully floodlit for night play in the cool of the evening.
Ends and sides are netted to restrain miss hit balls.
Court side showers and umpires chair are provided.
The net is adjustable. Court conforms to FIVB specifications.
Petanque:
Our pitch is under cover and well lit making play in all weathers enjoyable.
Boules are provided. On Thursday nights, we have our petanque competition
commencing around 7.00pm. Players are welcome to form teams.
As is custom, losers buy the beer.
Badminton / Croquet:
We have a lawn marked out as a badminton court but this can be
readily laid out for Croquet or Grass Boules when required.
Archery:
The club also has an archery range with 2 x 1.6m high density foam targets.
Shots can made from distances between 10 and 30 meters, with 5 meter increments –
extension up to 85 meters is available by prior request.
All equipment required i.e. Bows (36lb & 18lb Rolan Longshot recurve),
Arrows (Easton fiberglass 36”), Finger tabs and Arm Guards is available
for hire at reasonable rates at the club, but archers are naturally welcome
to bring and use their own equipment if desired.
If you wish to use your own equipment, high powered bows (over 50lb draw weight)-
either compound or recurve and any cross bows, must be advised at the time of booking.
Instruction / Tuition for beginners is available if requested in advance.
Indoor Games:
Pool / Snooker:
We have two tables;
One is an 8 x 4 foot Snooker table with Strachan cloth and Aramith balls.
Suitable for a friendly game of pool or 9 ball, snooker or billards.
This table is for use free of charge.
The other table is a Genuine Brunswick 9 x 4 1/2 foot Tournament Pool table
with Simonez cloth and is for the 8 or 9 ball pool enthusiast,
equipped with Aramith balls it is truly the best table available in Phuket.
At a replacement cost of around 300,000 naturally there is a small fee for it's use.
Both tables run true. Miss a shot - don´t blame the tables.
7.30pm. Tuesday is Pool Competition night.
xxx Baht to enter, winner takes the pot. Maximum 16 players per table.
Please book before the draw.
Darts:
We have 2 tournament Winmau dart boards, recognized as the best,
with electronic scoring. Flights and canes are available for purchase.
Carpet Bowls:
The indoor game as normally played outdoors.
Fun and enjoyment for the whole family. All equipment supplied.
Table Games:
A ping pong table is available for your enjoyment.
Should you require a less physical pursuit,
we have draughts, chess and backgammon, to exercise the mind.
Outdoor Facilities:
We have 3 large grassed areas, all with B.B.Q.’s. One with gas
another with charcoal and attached sala, and alongside the lake
there is campfire with Aussie style cooking facilities.
These areas are highly suitable locations for corporate functions,
weddings and birthday parties, or, if you prefer,
just a private family gathering or a few drinks with your friends.
Open from 8.00 am till late 7 days a week.
Bar and Restaurant:
Bring a few friends, or meet new ones at "The Outback Bar"
where you can quench a hard earned thirst with a cold beer or enjoy
a freshly squeezed fruit or vegetable juice from produce grown on the premises.
The restaurant offers good and wholesome Thai and Western food
at affordable prices.
We will, for those that have enjoyed themselves too much
and don´t wish to break the law, provide a "Booze Bus" home.
It will also be available for free pick up within a 5 km radius
for groups of 4 or more.
For those who enjoy the more relaxing activities,
we can now also do a bit of fishing.
Wet a line and have a go at some of our fine fighting Pacu, Snakehead or Tilapia.
More species are being added regularly.
Baitfishing, lure casting or even fly fishing is possible here.
We provide all tackle, (except fly fishing equipment) and bait,
and will naturally also be glad to let you in on a few tips
and tricks to catch the big ones!
If you don't catch a fish, you pay nothing, that's our guarantee!
Pricing:
Phuket Sports & Tennis Club is a members club, but non-members are also welcome.
If you wish to become a member, contact us by email
using "Membership" in the subject line.
Currently membership is FREE as are many of the activities on offer especially those indoors.
A charge depending on number of players and time of day will be made for the tennis court.
Discounts are available for block bookings.
Court lighting, if required, will be charged on an hourly or part thereof basis.
The future:
We plan to have a full length outdoor lawn bowls rink
with synthetic all weather playing surface. All equipment will be provided.
